Rather appropriate really. Gaylord nails it with his final comment.

If you lot are going to start picking on the colour of my lovely new mtb, I'll have to check with my girlfriend what 'mauve' actually is ... and you don't wanna go arguing with her when it comes to colour (what on earth does mauve look like anyway? )

Sorta like a hybrid Purple/ Pink.
I'm sure Tuco can advise best about colour misconception

That won't make the cross bar any lower I'm afraid you are just going to have to purchase a pair of those elevator shoes

No, but it'll enable my son to ride his old Gitanes to school - he didn't want to face the Expressway climb on a fixie ... the woose

So the Gitanes is a ute?
I wouldn't take Deni to school even if I still went. Not that brave, unlike a bloke who catches me train, he just rolls his Blueen coloured bit of Italian charcoal into the van and lets go

The Gitanes is an Elite from the seventies. I had converted her to a track bike, but she's going back to road trim now. Putting a 6 speed cluster on the back, some better shifters (Suntour off the Europa - still friction), Shimano 600 front derailleur, again off the Europa. Dunno about the rear derailleur yet - I'll have to see how his old derailleur cleans up. Brakes'll be the issue - I'll put the old Weinmans back on to start with, then look at options.
The poor old rear wheel (a very nice Mavic) was dished over for the track conversion, tonight it went back to the geared position again ... and still only one new spoke in it
