Chainrings

Postby wce » Fri Mar 20, 2009 6:32 pm

Anybody have experience with the Compagnolo compatible chainrings from RibbleUK called TA and Stronglight.
I have a very worn inner Compag chorus chainring and a slightly worn larger chainring and I cant seem to find the chorus chainrings I am after and dont want to pay the price of Record gear as I will probably be changing bikes early next year.
Just want to know if these chainrings are any good
Cheers

Bought Stronglight Shimano compatible chainrings from Ribble last September.

had a TA Specialities track chainring on my fixed gear commuter. Lasted about 3 years and around 35,000 km. If its made of Zircal 7075 it will last forever (nearly).

TA and Stronglight rings have a good rep. I've been advised on another forum to stay away from the FSA Campag compatible rings as they are not so flash. IIRC the Stronglight ones come in two grades, one 5000 series aluminum, the other 7000 series, with a fair price difference. Don't know what the 5000 series would be like, but the 7000 stuff should be no problems.
