Anyone know where I can get a 5W 6v and a 10W 6v halogen globe set for a Vista Lite? I blew both of mine when my Li-ion battery "smart" charger over-volted my battery. (Sound effects: click - POP - "!! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !!" .... click - POP - "!! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !!!")
An online store would be fine, but an LBS or lighting shop in the Perth area would be better.
Cheers,
Graeme

Are you sure that's what happened? Over-charging has consequences...Kalgrm wrote:I blew both of mine when my Li-ion battery "smart" charger over-volted my battery. (Sound effects: click - POP - "!! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !!" .... click - POP - "!! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !!!")
"Li-ion chemistry is not safe as such, and a Li-ion cell requires several mandatory safety devices to be built in before it can be considered safe for use outside of a laboratory. These are: shut-down separator (for overtemperature), tear-away tab (for internal pressure), vent (pressure relief), and thermal interrupt (overcurrent/overcharging). The devices take away useful space inside the cells, and add an additional layer of unreliability. Typically, their action is to permanently and irreversibly disable the cell."

It's a 7.2v battery. I tested the battery with a voltmeter that night and it said 8.6v. So I am assuming the high voltage means it was over-volted.MJF wrote:Are you sure that's what happened? I could be wrong, of course. It has been known to happen occasionally.
Cheers,
Graeme
