Is there a hub made that is Shimano / Sram cassette compatible that has a spoke count higher than 36 ?

Have you searched for tandem wheels... this might be your best way forward.

Pete, what's the threaded section on the off drive side of the hub for?

That's easy! To thread on the Arai drum brake. Standard kit on a touring tandem.

Or if you were really wicked on the tandem I guess you could use it for a flip-flop SS freewheel :wink:

What's the width of these hubs ? Anyone know ? IE Road is 130mm and MTB 135mm if memory serves............and knowing nothing about tandems at all. Are the wheels 700c ?

I emailed Velocity today. They do a 40 hole "Dyad" rim,with, i am assuming a hub to match. These are apparently a teak tough touring rim. Anyone used em here ?
