Add to that I have sent multiple items via express post at busy times of the year with no problems whatsoever so the 'it's busy' is just a cop out from toll
I don't think a helmet would fit in an Express Post bag, certainly not with it's box, maybe without. Not Bike Bug's fault Toll were having problems. Toll probably told BB that it would be delivered next day but perhaps a driver called in sick or a truck broke down or as fil_farina said they were just overwhelmed with freight.

On a related side note, I was talking to a guy from a LBS the other day and he said it normally takes a week to get his stock/orders in and he has been telling people they can't get anything before new year. Last few orders I've done to Wiggle have arrived in a week. No wonder people buy online from o/s. Cheaper, faster and bigger range. RIP LBS.
Express post bags come in some very large sizes.

As for toll they have on their website that they are having major problems so Bikebug would have known.

What's worse is that I am not likely to see it Monday either, tracking still has it in the sorting chute in Sydney.

Yahoo the helmet has arrived. Also got a email from Bikebug explaining that they had spoken to toll and we advised that it should arrive on Friday. Which is fair enough.

Mind toll are not a company that I would trust to deliver next door within a 24hr period based on past experience. To be honest I was not expecting to see the helmet till after Christmas once I realised they were the delivery agent.

Had to rearrange my Toll delivery as I stuffed up the address and put one they couldn't deliver to, totally my fault so can handle that. Chick on the phone asks will I be home this morning to collect it, sure no worries, currently been 7 hours and they still haven't showed, can't risk going anywhere because I'll most likely miss the driver and wont be back home for a week. #ihavethingstodo

I think bike bug is my local Aus online shop from now on. Needed a new cassette before Xmas day ordered on Monday morning arrived next day. Free shipping. Good prices for a local shop. 3rd purchase from them this year all positive.

Pushys is my preferered local online shop.
Prices (on specials) are comparable to oversea shops.

I have received my parcels from them within 2 days (QLD to NSW).

1 of my orders had a missing part. After a couple of emails, I had the replacement part shipped via Express Post. Can't beat that.

I am in the same boat!
However my read of it was that it is now handed over to Australia Post so the shipping company can't track it hence it gets "definitely missing".
I will worry if it is not here in another week.

Got a response from Merlin, they told me to wait a week.
Fair enough as this is Christmas/NY season and I bought something from half way across the globe right on the 22nd December.

I bought some mtb wheels in November that sat in this status for 2 weeks. They assured me it's a bug in the carriers software and sure enough the wheels turned up in about 3 weeks from dispatch.

I ordered a book from Book Depositry on Dec 17th that was out of stock and not due in stock until January. No worries, wasn't really in a hurry. Got an email on Christmas Eve saying it was now in stock and had just been dispatched. Received it today. Pretty happy with that. :)

Exactly the same- lets hope we don't get swapped orders :|
Aaaannnnddd I am still waiting- lost patience today (ie gave them a bit more time due to "peak" period) and sent a response through to Ribble- 1st (and last) time I use Ribble.

Meanwhile ordered a new rim and bottle (to reach free shipping) from Wiggle last saturday (3rd)- dispatched that day (their Friday), received Tuesday (6th)- that is service, especially for a big box.

Hi CX,

same experiences here, ordered last night from Wiggle, and got confirmation the same night that it was shipped.

FYI ordered SLX brakes from ribble on the 19th Dec, received on the 6th Jan. Was faster than merlins, my parcel got opened by customs so delayed.

Ok, Wiggle wins the race by a country mile once again. Evans Cycles ordered Dec 24, dispatched Dec 25, still waiting (they have emailed me to review the products I haven't received). Ribble ordered Dec 29, dispatched Jan 2, received Jan 13 (admittedly a groupset I ordered from Ribble pre-Xmas arrived in 8 days). Wiggle, ordered and dispatched Jan 5, arrived January 12. True Wiggle has a local warehouse which speeds things up.

Placed an order at Pushys yesterday afternoon (Sunday). Order was dispatched at lunch and delivered to work around 3:30 in Brisbane. Free shipping so I'm absolutely blown away by it!

why would you pay for the other option? that's a scam. free shipping works fine. the jet doesn't fly any faster on paid delivery.
