Questions about purchasing bicycles and parts
by zebedee » Thu May 24, 2012 9:58 am
i bought a pair of their Pace Roubaix leg warmers a few months back, they split at the seam on my first ride. i emailed wiggle with photos and requested replacements which they dispatched immediately. they lasted a bit longer and split on the second ride. 3 of the 4 legs now have holes in them where the stitching has given way. i wish i could blame my muscular calves for this but i'm kidding no one.

Maybe a dumb question, but what do you wear under unpadded tights? And do you wear bike shorts over the top?

Nothing and yes on the odd occasion I get some lycra happening.

I would only buy unpadded tights for warming... e.g. the Roubaix material, then wear them over my regular padded Knicks. Mulger bill wrote:Nothing and yes on the odd occasion I get some lycra happening.
Why buy unpadded tights if you have nothing else under/over them? Maybe split this into a topic?

Good sale on at Chain Reaction at the moment. I just ordered 3 x Michelin Pro Race 3's for only $25 each...!! Bargain for such nice tyres... Anything over $80 is free shipping at the moment too... (so grabbed a few little extras...) Cheers, Abby

I've got a couple of other pairs of Wiggle DHB bib tights, Super Roubaix I think and haven't had any problems. I see they've now shot up to $95, they were $65 last week.

When I bought some Look tights, I wore them over my knicks. After an hour of riding the bum in the tights literally had an enormous hole worn through them so I couldn't see myself falling for that again. Hence my initial question.

Methinks you misread me Kenzo. No way on earth I'd wear just unpadded tights, would not be a good look. Under knicks for the reason quoted above, prolly not optimal but cheaper. I suppose proper padded longs would be a better option but lycra is a rarity on my bum Shaun

Torpedo7's got a pretty good sale going on right now Got myself a TORPEDO7 2 Bike Floor to Ceiling Stand for $59. Just got it earlier and the quality's pretty good! Usually $99 http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/T7S ... ling-stand I also got myself some vittoria corsa CXII tires for $59... not the best price out there but not bad Michelin latex tubes for $9 - I thought this was a bargain. There was a coupon a few days ago but it might have expired already - MATES10 - $10 off orders over $100 Anyone know where I can get the best deals on aero wheels? Looking for HED jet6 or similar zipps. Thanks

Bummer... I'll see if I can convince wiggle to send the wheels separately so they're both under $1000. Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

It has been with varying degrees of sucess. While the cutoff is correct, by all reports whether you get pinged or not is a raffle. Customs doesn't have the people to go over everything.
