Questions about purchasing bicycles and parts
For people in Brisbane: Bums on Bikes clearance from their old Strathpine store for the next 2 weeks: 50% or more off bikes, frames, other items, etc and 70% off clothing.
Picked up some profile aero bars, sugoi wool socks and jersey.
Saw lots Eddy Merckx frames around $1000 mark. Jamis Xenith Comp Carbon Road 105 for $1250 reduced form $2400 - all sizes 48-61 and womens 48, 51, 54 I think. Jamis Xenith Ultegra Di2 around $2000/2400 mark can't remember.
Arrgh, placed an order 1 hr ago! No, haven't got it yet.
Haven't they been closing down since January?
Would be handy to find it out. Got an order ready to go, just need a coupon
Current Ride: Trek Madone 6.5 (2013)
From what I understand they donot have enough room at their one and only store now hence trying to clear excess stock. I notice that their old premises is up for auction if you are interested
So...what position are you employed as with Cycling Express?
lof5 recently joined with only 2 posts praising CE...... hmm
It's a stark contrast between this CE shill account and the guy from Cell, who is open about who he is and responds to queries.
Disclosure - I have no affiliation with either store, having not even purchased from either one)
2014 Merida Cyclo Cross 4
2015 Merida Scultura 5000
Except they're $62 with Wiggle (who actually stock the advertised product) and they deliver fast and also have a free shipping over a certain value option. No-one compares in-shop prices with online to determine a no-brainer. Everyone knows they're ridiculously inflated.
Decent wheel comparison here:
Highlight would be the $235-shipped Vuelta Corsa Superlite 1500gram 20H/24H (after applying $10-off 'Newby34' coupon). Similar specs to $374 Pro-lite Bracciano from CRC.

Not a spammer, even if my username may sound like it.
Busted a WH-500 rear wheel so did research into current wheelset deals posting a summary of my and others' findings at ozbargain. Standouts from that list posted below as might benefit others:
$415-shipped Shimano WH-RS80-C24-CL 1521gram 24mm 16H/20H (after applying $10-off 'Newby34' coupon). Carbon-alloy composite.
$275-shipped Campagnolo Scirocco 35 1725gram 35mm 18H/21H (after applying 'paypal20' coupon). Shimano hub option.
$235-shipped Vuelta Corsa Superlite 1499gram 27mm 20H/24H (after applying $10-off 'Newby34' coupon). Similar specs to pricier Pro-lite Braccianos. SOLD-OUT!! They might get some return stock so worth rechecking.
$199 Easton EA50 1735grams 30mm 20H/24H. Decent deal if can do local MELB pickup.
$129-shipped Shimano WH-R501 1884grams 24mm 20H/24H. Good set of budget rims.
$40+shipping Alex Quando DA16 ~2100grams 21mm 32H/32H. Thief deterring boat-anchor rims good to build massive leg quads.
EDIT: Changed $40 rims from ebay link to REID cycles link with clearer shipping/local pickup options.

Try these: http://www.reidcycles.com.au/parts-acce ... heels.html
$40 + $15 postage. 10 speed. If you're in the same city as a Reid store you can pick up for free. Or if you're in Canberra I can give you the rear wheel for nothing.
PBK has 6800 Groupset for $840.99 which then comes down to $756.89 with the code 'ABN10'.
Trying very hard not to buy one.
Also 15% off clincher tyres when you buy 4. Brings the Conti GPs down to just over $30 each (but the ABN10 code doesn't work for this offer).
