I have one in XS and yes it is pretty much the same as S on Rapha. I'm also a S with Assos (race cuts) and Campag S. Generally with European sizing i'm a S and if going by US/Aus sizing I am a XS.
Thanks for the reply Ray. I actually took a punt on size S and I agree with you. On the same size my Rapha is race fit while Jaggad still have some slack (tho not to the point of flapping in the wind). Still for the price I've not quibble, and at least it's good for the fat days
And cheers for the code, Alexander!
Bike Sales on Albert (in the Brisbane CBD).
They are having a relocation sale. All Shimano shoes (road, mtb) only $45! I bought myself a pair - bargain. Limited sizes left, but worth a look if you are in the market for a new pair... Ends 16th April I believe...
I got the email. I have big feet - I should go in and have a look
After a few weeks of researching and waiting for bits to come into stock I just bought myself a DA9000 groupset from Merlin. I think the sticker price was $1483.92... with the options I wanted (band on FD and compact chainset), it ended up being $1536.
But as we all know - orders over $1000 are subject to customs duties - so obviously that price needs GST added on top... which adds some (at least $150, but potentially more if the courier charges you their own brokerage fees) to the price.
So what I did was actually buy all the bits separately and ship over two orders. Came out to $1665 in total - so not that much more expensive than the package price, and no customs fees.
And when I swapped out the DA cassette for a more robust Ultegra unit, the price came back down to what the package groupset was worth!
So anyway, enough storytelling, what I noticed in this entire process was that Merlin is selling Shimano stuff insanely cheap. I compared individual unit prices... chainsets, shifters, cassettes, derailleurs, brakesets... everything was cheaper.
Moral of the story - if you want anything Shimano at the moment, have a good look at what Merlin is offering.
Sadly, I think nowhere - they may actually be closing down.
Asked the guy behind the counter when I bought the shoes. He said the 'new' lease they were moving to just fell through, and they were 'up !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !! creek' with nowhere to go... They are a really friendly & helpful bunch of guys there, so I hope they do manage to find somewhere quickly...
Bike sales on Albert is closing down. I was in there this arvo. Not much left. Some shoes (no 48s though lots of women's and smaller sizes). Bontrager helmet for $25 and a few other bits and pieces sadly gloves were all for midgets and giants. Knicks were all for women or midgets too. Oh they did have a pair or two of size 47 shoes. Hope it helps someone
