Questions about purchasing bicycles and parts

That is a nice bit of kit Biciboy. And I do find myself going "well if I am going to spend 90 bucks on the T7 stand i might as well spend 130 and get the PCS-9"

Then again I am cheap :-P, so always looking for the cheapest option to get away with. I dont intend on doing anything "major" as I dont have the experience so figured a cheap stand will suit the purposes of cleaning and minor alternations

Unless someone has a MASSIVE sale on Park Tool/Feedback or Tacx stands soon of course :P

Cell bikes is having some crazy cheap Vittoria Zaffiro 700x25c wirebead tyres on their clearance list, not going to be useful if you are racing, but good for commuting and training rides.

White tread - 2 for $10 + shipping - http://www.cellbikes.com.au/Vittoria-Zaffiro-Ver-2-700-x-25-Wirebead-Tyre-TWO-for-10?sc=33&category=12704
Orange tread - 2 for $10 + shipping - http://www.cellbikes.com.au/Vittoria-Zaffiro-Ver-2-700-x-25-Wirebead-Tyres-TWO-for-10-dollars
White Zaffiro Slick - 4 for $16 + shipping - http://www.cellbikes.com.au/Vittoria-Zaffiro-Slick_2504?category=211924&sc=7

The Aldi stand is great value for money. Has served me just fine since I've had it.

A friend has one and I used it to service his bike. Frankly, it was disappointing. My Spin Doctor was a lot more expensive but a pleasure to use.

For the coin, the Aldi stand is terrific. No doubt a Park Tool stand would be better, but also much pricier...

I've only time I've had an issue with the non-QR clamps slipping is when clamping the full-sus MTB on an odd angle to get the rear brake line as close to vertical as possible for bleeding- never a problem with the roadie.

Being steel and a four-leg design, it's very stable - but not super portable due to weight. Still packs up small enough to go into the car if you want to take it to races etc though.

The only thing I have about the Aldi stand is the clamps inability to hold an unbalanced load at a specific angle but seeing as I bought it solely to sit on my locker at work just in case I can live with it for so few dollars.

Agree with this. I need to get a BB/fork stand and a better workstand.

I have the Tacx stand and it's great, but sometimes I do find it a bit of a chore to remove wheel and then to fit it onto the stand. Especially if attaching by the forks due to lawyer's lips and actually having to unscrew the quick release on both wheel and workstand. Just my 2cents, for fork/BB stand vs seatpost stand.

Probably need another thread about stands rather than clogging this one up. This thread is about specials.

Got an email from PBK with a mystery discount code of up to 20%. Went to their website and tested it, 20% discount but then I noticed the prices of stuff I was looking at earlier in the are now........15-20% more expensive. What a coincidence.

They are in the UK, what is ACCC going to do? I'm logged in and it says shipping to Australia.
