I ordered a couple of things last night on Cycling Express. I made one purchase but then decided to change another purchase I was going to make at another on line store to this one. Everything I purchased was reduced quite a lot. Unfortunately I may be paying two lots of shipping. I have since sent them an email asking if they can package it together and just charge me the larger of the two fees. I will post how it goes.

But as far as LBS are concerned, I will always buy apparel there as I like to try it on. I will be buying my next bike at a LBS as well as I like the idea of the advice that can be given. Especially since it will be my first serious bike.
Cheers and beers,
A.

I just received two Conti GP4000S's from Ribble for $64 plus postage. Delivered today 27th, ordered on the 20th.

I see CE's proce for these tyres is $49.95 each. Still a big price difference.

I will compare prices before I place ann overseas order but I am not holding my breath that CE will be cheaper.

What's your point?
They can't price match every single thing, and it's not bad - considering I was at one shop on the weekend and they were double that price.

i think that's what some of us are forgetting: they can't price match every competitor on every item.
i don't see wiggle or c r c or pbk or ribble or bike24 or evans price matching every competitor on every item.

cut 'em some slack i say.

and as for stock, i'm sure they've said a hundred times already to keep checking over the next few weeks for new stock.
personally, i'd be emailing them if they don't have something listed; i'd rather wait a week than send my money directly o/s

Take another look bro, you might have been looking at the wrong tyres, they're $34.99 at CE.

Ribble has them for $35.60 - plus you're unlikely to get that exchange rate from your card- (unless you've got a 28degrees mastercard card)

Plus if you you register with CE you get a $10 voucher - meaning you could get a pair for only $59.98.

Not looking at the wrong tyre at all. The price has changed - was $49.95 when I first looked... :?

$32.00 is Ribble's quoted price. However, this can change at checkout according to exchange rates.

I ordered them before CE went live. I was in a hurry for a tyre as I just cut up a rear tyre on debris.

At the current price I would prefer to support the local business..

There was nothing wrong with your eyes. They were $49.95 each the other day as I thought that I'd try out their price match button on their website and get them to match $32 from Ribble.

They werent able to price match it and have now updated their price match policy to match only c r c or Wiggle.

Hi guys,

Just want to say congratulations on the site and props for all your hard effort.
Very competitive pricing from what I can see.
Looking forward to how it all unravels but I will definitely be spending my money here nonetheless.

Cheers

They haven't updated anything, that's always been their policy to price match only c r c and Wiggle.

We've been price matching every-one this week (if the price match is legit) even though our policy has been and always was to price match c r c and Wiggle.

We wrote our price match policy 2 months ago (I know because I wrote it). Plus mate, Ribble isn't even in stock- not really fair to ask for a price match for a product that isn't available bro.

Guys, CE have only been open 4 days, give them some time to make the adjustments.

To their credit, they are listening to what we all want, and taking it on board.

I mean, honestly, how many other online businesses have been so open and accepting of suggestions and criticisms? none that I can think of.

I give these guys props, cos they are trying their damned hardest to please every one, which is a hard thing to do, cos they are a business trying to make a living after all!

I ordered a set of Cycleops rollers on the weekend from CE and they were very competitive and I look forward to making a few more purchases with them.

I must have got the last two then... :)

Full credit to CE listening to their potential customers.

It is obvious they are serious about competing with the off shore sites.

Time will tell how successful they will be.

Personally, I don't expect the *same* price as OS. Competetive pricing will do me just fine.
If I required tyres, I'd buy the gp4000s from CE for that rpice before going OS, even if OS could land them cheaper. For AUS pricing, that's a very good deal.

Isn't that what we've all been after? Competetive pricing from AUS retailers?

I'll swallow my pride and admit that I have been proven wrong - it's not bad after all.

Range is a bit limited as would be expected, but still pretty good.

Several things are in my basket, but would dearly love to see the following ;

Hutchinson Road tubeless tyres
Brooks saddles/care equipment
Rims/spokes/hubs to build wheels
Quality wheel truing stand (such as Park Tools TS2.2
Forks that are disc capable - such as Trigon etc

So far so good though.

One surprise was BB7 road caliper and disc at $75 - Bargain
