Why would that be? I understand there may at times be a lead time getting a replacement spoke, but if your LBS mech holds the appropriate stock for quick replacement, what would be the problem with specific proprietary spokes?

The company can charge whatever they want for them, they know you have to buy it.

I'll never buy proprietary wheels again, $20 for an xtr spoke is a joke.

I think you answered your own question - time. I have been looking around for a set of spare spokes for the Shimamo c24 and I found one place in Europe. I am beginning to rethink my choice of wheels.

I picked the standard postage without the quick despatch and they send them dhl within a few hours of order. Quicker then Australia post sending something locally

At under $400 for wheels that are rated up to 109kg that look as hot as they do... Can't go wrong.

The max weight is 109 but it says you have to inspect them more often if your over 83kg. Not sur if that's standard or not.

The Bracciano's are better in everyway and you can get current model stock with full warranty and local support for less than NOS Ksyrium's.

Campagnolo Neutron Ultra are a great wheel.

I wouldn't - do a search and you'll find very mixed reviews on their products and service.
