I doubt they would be in a position to buy EPS if it were not for the existence of Di2 Shimano's innovation may continue to influence what Campag do in the future, so I would argue that they should pay attention to what Shimano has done and will do
Re: Dura-Ace Di2 9070, Take that Campy EPS!
What if the electronic Alfine did away with the shift cable connection to the hub - i.e. used a wireless connection or a commutator to get the signal on board the hub ? That would make wheel or tyre changes a whole lot easier, and remove a significant disadvantage of hub gears. It's difficult to see from press photos, but the prototype might have achieved that... see pics http://road.cc/content/news/53529-shima ... alfine-di2 . Alfine hub gears are so easy to change, you could hardly imagine it would be worth the expense - but if volume production gets the expense down in a few years, you can see the market giving simpler wheel changes a big tick. Re: Dura-Ace Di2 9070, Take that Campy EPS!
In fairness Campag have got a march on quite a bit over the years. Electronic - started work on it decades ago, just took a while to perfect it and get it out there. 11sp Getting gear cables running along the handlebars so the bike does not look like it is a clothes line. From all I've read, no they're not. Sell them now.... It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: Dura-Ace Di2 9070, Take that Campy EPS!10spd C24s will take a 11spd cassette but the 11spd ones won't take a 10spd cassette
Re: Dura-Ace Di2 9070, Take that Campy EPS!
Sorry but you have that the wrong way round Ross. The new C24 (with 11spd freehub) will accept a 10spd cassette with addition of a spacer to fill the gap. Old C24s haven't got a 'long' enough freehub to take the increased width of the 11spd cassette. It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: Dura-Ace Di2 9070, Take that Campy EPS!Yes you are correct, Sven Nijs. I was still half asleep when I posted that!
Re: Dura-Ace Di2 9070, Take that Campy EPS!It's great to see another 11sp groupo on the market.
I haven't lived with Campy but would like to try it but OTOH am very happy with my 7900. I am not fixed in either camp - I would take either.

Re: Dura-Ace Di2 9070, Take that Campy EPS!
If they do what Campy did and run a narrower chain, he can most likely just swap his freehubs. If they stick with Shimano standard, then new wheels could be on the table. Some wheels can goto 11sp Shimano with a freehub change. Our Website is: http://www.pro-liteoz.com Find us on Facebook by searching for "Pro-Lite Australia"
