Hi did you get the 2012 or 2013 version. Tossing up between 2012 fulcrum 3 for $445 delivered vs braccianos $425 delivered. Reviews seem evenly divided.

go custom, you could get sub 1300g with that money if you are a lightweight around 1400g if you are average to heavy weight. You are at the mercy of Fulcrum if you have any issues with your wheels as all of their parts are propriety (their spokes cost $20 a piece). Not sure about the pro-lites but I wouldn't be surprised if they had $20 spokes too...

Wow that's pricey for the fulcrums. The pro lite website has a spoke repair kit for $45 which includes 10 front, 12 rear spokes. Seems reasonable. I'm leaning towards prolites.

I got the 2012 version, and only downside of Fulcrum is the spokes. They are expensive! I didn't realise how much the spokes were until it was too late. But either way, I don't regret buying them, maybe until I break some spokes LOL

Got the pro lites in the end. They were hard to pass for $325 delivered. Cant wait to test them in the Sydney to Gong ride 90km.

am already in trouble with the minister for war and finance. waiting for deon to confirm they are legit

Yes bought the ones from Pro Lite website. Better be quick i don't think they'll last long at that price.

good on you for supporting Deon. if i was to buy i'd option the brake pads to make sure he gets something out of the deal

$325 is still $100 more than what it would cost them to buy the components (calculated for a wheel with similar spec). Everyone is so used to overpriced wheels so that when the markup is only 150% it still seems cheap

You'd have to realise that hand wheel building is a non trivial time consuming task attracting labor costs and realistically requires a somewhat skilled tradesman, and if done in a factory, using rather better tools than a home mechanic would have. Pro-lites by all reports are expertly hand built. I think a wheel build in Australia is likely to be $70 per wheel.
