Replacement for Post Moderne 26.8mm seatpost?

Hi
I guess I'm beginning to experience the challenges associated with buying a 2nd hand, albeit gorgeous, bike.
(Koga Miyata Advance. As far as I can ascertain this is a touring model and was built around 2004.

My current seatpost is a "Post Moderne 26.8mm" and needs to be replaced. (Seems model is no longer available; returns 0 results on Google)
LBS isn't being very helpful, and I'm struggling to understand all the acronyms and descriptions on returned Google results. I am concerned that going to a different make/model is going to change my seating position as it appears one needs to understand post angles and seat position on the post as well. (Not very mechanically minded I guess. )
Can anyone suggest a suitable alternative? Or better still, have a disused one in the shed somewhere to sell!
TIA
