Postby skies » Sat Oct 13, 2012 11:48 am

Hi
I'm thinking to buy a hybrid Giant Perigee. Is this bike any good?
I ride around 15 km everyday...

Thanks heaps!

I have a Giant Perigee and I've been pretty happy with it.
The only mechanical issue apart from replacing worn out chains and tyres is that I've had true up the wheels a number of times. I've given the bike a bit of a hard time riding it on rough dirt roads and I'm not a small bloke so I don't think it's because the wheels are poor quality, just a reflection of the price I paid for the bike.
I did replace the saddle with a Brooks B57 which I find is more comfortable that the original saddle and I have set up the bike very carefully for my height etc.
I don't think the front suspended forks are very good and I wouldn't buy another bike with them. It's not a "fast" bike and I run 32C tyres on it with a Topeak rack and just the one pannier to carry the shopping. So, for me, it's a general runabout kind of bike for getting around on and doing the shopping.
I paid about $1100 for mine from memory in 2008 and I think I've gotten my moneys worth from it.
