Just bought some shimano r087 shoes off ebay. didnt realise they were a wide fit...but they don't seem that wide and fit ok I guess.

how much room should their be?

How much room? They should feel firmish without squeezing your feet or toes. My first bike shoes were Shimano wide as the standard width felt a bit tight. If it helps, I've now got some Northwave shoes and the standard width feels the same as Shimano's wide fit.

Shimano's standard shoe size is a pretty narrow fit. Suits me just fine :wink:

Canondale and Specialized seem to do wider shoe sizes that I'd be swimming in.
Riding bikes in traffic - what seems dangerous is usually safe; what seems safe is often more dangerous.
