Buying Wilier from Wiggle?

Postby PerthNewbie » Sat Nov 10, 2012 11:55 pm

Hey everyone, I have recently being looking for a larger road bike at the 2K mark and have come up with a few options which are posted in the Road riding section. I noticed my LBS had a Wilier Izoard XP for ~$2700 with Campy Centaur and Wiggle currently has this on sale for ~$1700 after shipping.
My question is, is buying from the UK bad? I have never bought a complete bike from overseas and am worried about warranty claims but at such a huge reduction im a little torn. Will Wilier honour a warranty locally?
If there is already a thread with all of this being discussed a link would be appreciated!
Thanks!

The cost will be closer to $2000 by the time you pay the Customs Duty, GST and the Customs Processing Fee.

It doesn't look like it.

Not sure how much larger you a looking for but have you seen this?

Its an XL though, so may be larger than you were looking for?

I would make sure you get confirmation of the exact specification of the bike before buying. I bought a BMC from Wiggle a couple of years ago and the description stated XT for the components, the bike arrived with SLX. It was a long drawn out process to get a resolution and boiled down to threatening legal action against them. If its all good with the bike there shouldn't be an issue but be prepared to work hard to sort out anything that goes wrong. If it ever does that is.

Yep, I would whole heatedly recommend Torpedo7. They also have a great returns policy and are very quick to answer emails.

Never had an issue with them
