My most loved cycling gear and wear:

Blue GORE mtb jacket which is about 13 years old and going strong
Charge "spoon" bike saddle - great comfort
Prendas Deluxe Track Mitts (summer gloves) - no velcro, and a great fit
GroundEffect Turbine jacket - suits different weather

What is you most loved cycling gear and stuff that you would hate to be without?

Yes, I love this when touring.

- Brooks B17 Imperial; so comfortable!

- Dynamo lights; doesn't matter where I go nor what time it is, I always have excellent lighting. No worrying about batteries or charging etc

- Fenders; again, I can be anywhere at any time and keep my bum dry!

- Feedback Sports bicycle work stand

- Having the right tools

There are plenty of other things that I really like - Rohloff, Nitto Noodles with padded leather tape, 35mm tyres - but these are all variable and can be replaced by other things.

Popped one on last week. Coming from a plush commuter saddle, "comfort" is relative!

If I've previously read you rightly, that saddle will be way too narrow for you Mr. HelmutHerr. A saddle needs to be wide enough for your bones to be on it, not the squishy bits[1] between them. I struggle too, but I've finally succumbed to the fact that I need a saddle at least 16cm wide. I get too much pain from anything narrower.

Assos Mille bib knicks and bib tights. A revelation for my 'undercarriage' .... like wearing the Emperor's New Clothes.........

Selle SMP Glider saddle, again, the undercarriage thanks thee........

Mavic Zxellium Ultimate shoes, put them on - take them off, never give them a moment's thought in between. :D

In no particular order:

1 - Speedplay's. Not my favorite thing but my knees sure do love them.
2 - Campag Gilet I picked up for $50 at a clearance sale
3 - My garmin
4 - The old healing path racer frame in a box in the shed that I picked up from the tip shop for $20.... my 'one day' project
