Not necessary for commpressionless gear housing, but yes I always do that with brake housing.

Finally got ahead to replacing the frayed cable and cleaning the bike.I highly recommend the park cable cutters the are a solid unit :shock:

Those park tool cutter have already justified their $28 dollar price on the first cut.
