Buying a bike for 6 months

Postby spikesebrog363 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 8:40 pm

Hi all

I have been planning to buy a bike in the next couple of weeks for travelling around Sydney (paths and roads), but I am leaving the country in 6 months and would ideally like to sell the bike on before I leave. I was hoping to get some recommendations about whether to buy first or second hand, where to buy, how much to spend (although I don't have a lot of cash to throw around), which bikes are easier to resell, and any other information that might be relevant to my situation. It will be the first bike I have purchased in a long time, so I'm starting from scratch to some extent...

Thanks :)

Buying second hand will see less of a loss at the sale end.

I just put a reid condor together for a mate and they are only $250 new, the resale value on that bike will probably be nothing but it will get you around the road and paths just fine.
