Electronics warehouse sale

Postby kukamunga » Wed May 21, 2008 10:11 pm

Just a heads up that Jaycar are having a Desperation Sale this week/end at their warehouse in Silverwater, NSW. May be some batteries or torches or other products of use to cyclists there.....

EL - Electroluminescence
EL Sheet or EL Strip
EL sheet was cut to size and wrapped around the seatpost. My wife uses an armband with some EL strip in it when she rides in the morning. 2 years with the same button battery so its is quite efficient.

Is it really as simple as it sounds ?

I like the strip idea, and it even comes with the battery pack & inverter, and it can even flash slowly/quickly.

It looks like the battery pack can be fitted to the underseat bag as well.

Will certainly investigate further.

the sheet can be cut to any shape you want, just remember to seal the cut ends with tape or you'll get a bit of an electric shock. Shouldn't take any more than 30 minutes to do. the hard part is working out some way to route the cable and keep the inverter dry.

Had an email back from them.

The AA inverter pack cant do the A5 sheet size, but MAY be OK with half a sheet.

The A5 sized EL sheet really needs the 12VDC or 110VAc inverter, but the 9V inverter may be OK, but will be a bit dimmer.

The AA inverter is designed to work mainly with the EL Tape.

Postage is reasonable at US$6.00 via airmail for the first item, and $1.00 for each additional item, and USPS Express is USD$13.00 for the first.

I'll place an oredr next week !!!!
