700 x 16 Say What?

I mentioned to some friends I was looking for some 700C wheels for cheap/free and I was given some marked 700 x 16. They are nice wheels, made in Belgium and off a European ladies bike.

The question I have is are they worth keeping? I want to run 700x28 for commuting and I doubt they'll take that. Is there any hope for these wheels?

Wheel size is different to tire size.

My roadies wheels are 700C x 15, which according to http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html can take 23, 25, 28 and 32 tire widths.

Thanks for the link. I realised the rim size and the tire size were different to each other, but had just never seen the x16 before.

So it seems I have some good rims :)

Thanks,
David
