Questions about purchasing bicycles and parts

Doing my first build (yay? ) and wanted to check what I needed in terms of cables. I will be running a mix of sram red and force on the bike and wanted opinions on what cables to get and to check that I needed inners and outers, do they come as a set?
Also on a side note the brakes I am going to order are sram force 22 dual pivot brakes, this wont be an issue for me running a 10spd groupset right since it is just the brakes??
You can buy cables as you need, ie
complete set - bout outters, both inners, ferules, cable ends for both gears and brakes.
brake or gear set - the above but for either gears or brakes only
seperately - outters, inners etc
just read the descriptions when purchasing, and make sure its the right compatibility, ie campy or shimano/sram.
as for brakes, i dont see it being a problem.
Since you're a novice I would buy a Jagwire Racer brake and gear cable set. It has everything you need for less than $40.
Good gear, used on much of my bikes.
I would suggest Goodridge are better, if slightly pricer. IIRC, about $30 for each (shift or brake) kit from CRC last time I did the commuters cables. Should get another pair for the spares box...
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

I find the Shimano sets to be mighty good. Make sure you get PTFE-coated inner gear cables though; it's needed to counteract the friction of the hidden routing. Jagwire & SRAM cable coating tends to fray & jam up the outers, but I've never had that issue with Shimano.
As far as compatibility goes, Shimano & SRAM are fully compatible, Campag will accept other brake cables, but has specific gear cables.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
Genuine SRAM gear inner cables are 1.1mm diameter and easier to thread through the levers than Shimano or other brands of inner cables which are 1.2mm. I would recommend you get a set of Yokozuna Reaction cables and use SRAM inners on the gears.
