Would love a fattie to take when camping and / or caravan touring.
Could someone with a bit of knowledge on these please check the above bikes and give me an opinion of value?
Under $1000 is my budget.
Thanks

You got me interested - pity it is due after my ski holiday - might be just the ticket to get back to the lodge

Specs look OK to me, fat bikes are naturally very very expensive compared to a regular MTB because the tyres, wheels and cranks are usually a specialty item - the cheap tyre might be 80 bucks, instead of 15. Half a dozen extra 50s and 60s makes your bike pricey.

Ultimately the frame is the biggest thing, and you can't tell anything from the photo. If I wasn't focussed on road biking I would beg to get one; worst case you have to replace the frame in a year; strip the bike and replace the frame. Could be worse.

That's an excellent spec for the money. Frame is steel which should be more than strong enough and the rest is something you'd find on a fattie that's twice the price - check out the spec on the Norco Bigfoot fattie for instance. That's worth a punt if you are in the market.

Snap that puppy up. I wish they were around last year before I bought my Fatboy.

There is a Fatbike thread in the MTB section too

I don't live near a beach.

I would have to go looking for a good sized mud patch...

It doesnt snow here......

I have no logical use for one.....

So why am I considering buying one....
