Considering a new wheel set for training/racing. They are
Fulcrum 3, Fulcrum 1, RS81 C24, DA9000 C24.

Easy one. DA 9000 C24s. In a class of their own.

Fulcrum 1's are twice the price of Fulcrum 3's. If you look at the specifications, they are the same in every way, same hub, rim ...the only difference I can see is that the 1's are 70 grams lighter. I paid $500 for brand new 3's ...didn't want to pay an extra $60 per gram to get the 1's.
I agree the C24s are beautiful but you wont get them for $500.

Edit: If you get the C24s make sure you get the clincher version, not the tubeless (unless you really want to run tubelesss) as the tyres can be quite hard to get on and off the tubeless wheels due to the different profile of the rim.
