Merida 95 carbon

Postby davetheaviator » Mon Oct 02, 2017 2:51 pm

Hi all I'm new here so please be gentle...
I have a Merida 95 carbon with all ultegra except cranks it has FSA 170 cranks I was thinking about upgrading cranks . It is confusing if you are not up with all this and I must confess I'm not. Which ultegra crank should I install please help. I'm 170cm tall with 170 mm cranks at the minute..
Thank you all for your help in advance.
Cheers Dave

you need to know what sort of bottom bracket you currently have, but probably more important what type of BB your frame will take.

I would expect you would need a different Bottom bracket for the ultegra chainset.

Also why the swap? just to keep everything the same?

Picking the crank is the easy bit.... Just match the arm length, unless there's a physiological need to change, and pick the chainring combo. The frame will determine which of the multitude of bottom bracket formats or adaptors is required.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
