My first package was delivered this afternoon, and my second one arrived in Sydney this afternoon as well.

Cool. Merry Xmas to you !! Exasperated by the Auspost system that It can't/won't track once it leaves the process centre OS. Damn useless system.....

You did well. Hope it works great and you enjoy it.

I still haven't got any further updates from P2M Aus either on trying to get a Compact Type S from Germany or when the Plan B option of an NGeco version (mine is for a Specialised crank) would be available. Bit disappointed by that, and hence ended up getting something else from another supplier.

Had hoped to support a local company, but that didn't work. Oh well.

Me neither. I've sent Sam another request, but it is dragging on a bit. I was originally told October delivery, which blew out to November, when I was told "it's coming", and here we are in December with still no update. Granted, I won't need it until February, but I don't want my frame to arrive and still not have my cranks.

Spoke to AusPost yesterday to understand how the tracking works. As my item requires a signature (Code 11 - something they can see in their system) which means a signature is required, I'll see tracking info once it arrives at an Aus parcel sorting centre (Melb or Syd) and then hopefully be able to track it from there.
So, likely scenario is that It'll arrive sometime before Xmas, so then it will be FTP time just after Xmas, and power play till the TdU. Pity I won't be able to use it on Gold Coast, but that's life and I should have ordered it sooner.

(AT) andrewjcw - are you going to use the 50/34 rings on something else, as you got a 130BCD PM ?

Yeah they found one somewhere. I think the difference is I just blindly paid them money, and we all know processing refunds are a pain. Definitely out of stock on website when I ordered.

Just saw that BikeBug is doing Garmin Vector 2S pedals at $499 right at the moment. Only single sided.

"fortune favours the brave" 8)

I was thinking I could go a powerbox and if shifting really sucks I could get the praxis rings and replace the chainrings.

So are Pushy's. Pushy's are also doing dual sided for $999. I was tempted but still going to go with Powertap pedals. Just waiting for them to come back in stock and a discount code to be sent out.

I've heard/read that the praxis rings aren't the best for shifting themselves, but who knows I guess.

I'm using Praxis rings on my R5, and they have no shifting issues at all. Great set of rings.

The only other ones I have are the Rotor NoQ Aero Rings, which are a 53/39 combo but with a 110BCD. They came off my S5. Might come in handy if I want the commuter to bike to look totally sick in it's new stealth black guide. I just finished lacing my new rear wheel and it's come up looking pretty darn sexy ;-)

Ooohhh  My PM has arrived in Aus :D

But will it get here on time for me to fit it to the bike before heading to Gold Coast ????

That's the $64 (and quite a bit) question .....

Edit : Speaking to Aus Post, it landed in Melb on Sunday, and MIGHT make it to me on Wed ..... (where is that damn fingers crossed emoji ....)

I wish you luck. It takes Aus Post 3 days to get it from "Arrived in Sydney" to "At Delivery Depot in Sydney". I got my second Bike24 package on Friday at 6pm. Still now word from power2max though. Getting pretty annoyed now.

It's amazing how it can all go awry, real damn quick ...

Washed the beastie last night in prep for the trip to Qld. Even put in fresh pads. Getting ready to dry it all off and, "hmmm, didn't notice that scratch before ... wait, is that a ... ". Bugger, the seat tube is cracked.

Found an alternate to get me going at minimal cost - a Kenisis Racelight 4S frame from Pushys. Swap all the bits over and I'm up and running again.

To look at the +ves, I didn't buy a BB converter, and as the new frame needs a different one, it's even cheaper, as it's a BSA threaded BB.

Have been negotiating with Pushys to do a deal, and whilst they can't budge on the shipping, they have come down on the frame price and the other bits to almost the same amount, so whilst it ain't a huge amount, better than nothing. Thumbs up to them.

All the bits will be here before Xmas, so can get it together quick and only really lose a week of riding. :?

On the off chance, I sent Robert Choi an email. He responded overnight with a cost of US$450 + shipping. So need to get a shipping cost and start saving. Waiting on a response. Gotta be happy with that after 4 1/2 years.

EDIT : He just replied again - he'd be happy to ship the frame now and get paid later !! :D

Haha - their version of a special blend AL alloy. The 4S frame was chosen as it allows everything (except seatpost) to be fitted (incl mudguards for winter). Frame might be here tomorrow, but either way, will be busy on Xmas eve stripping the old bike and building the new one. Going to hire a bike on Gold Coast to still keep riding too.

Grats MB. As a little update/closure from me, I have my power2max installed and working. For those worried about compatibility/install, my process was to email power2max with exact specs of my bike, then they sent me the BB/crank I needed, and my LBS (TWI in Newcastle) was happy to install and rolled the cost into a normal service for me.

Unfortunately my body has been the only thing not playing right, been out from a stomach bug this week haven't really had a chance to test it out much. Rode into work this morning and had good signal for power/cadence when checked on Strava so so far so good I guess. Keen to do a FTP test on the weekend and start targeting some training to different power zones.

If you've been crook, wait until you're right before doing the FTP test, or you'll get a skewed result...
