Pinarello ROKH Ultegra 2017

Postby CreakyCrank » Tue Jan 02, 2018 6:25 pm

Anyone riding one of these ? Would like some rider comments/review.
I have my eye on one but am just a little concerned about the weight and can't find any reviews on a 2017 model. I would upgrade the wheels to Fulcrum Racing 3 if I bought one.

My roadie is a Gan S (2015) and I love it, supremely comfortable and great handling. Are you able to test ride some different ones? I knew as soon as I sat on the Gan it was 'my' bike, despite heading into the shop with another bike in mind. I have Fulcrum Racing Zeros on mine, hard to fault them also. What is your concern re weight?

I'm a bit of a 'weight weenie' and I feel that if I'm going to spend $3200 on a ROKH I expect a sub 8.0kg bike. The only mention I could find was 8.3kg stock standard (not sure if it includes or excludes pedals). I've seen a GAN S quoted at 7.9kg with Fulcrum 5 wheels. The GAN S is of course quite a bit more $$$ than the ROKH (aero vs endurance geometry).
Do you know what your GAN weighs ?

Fairly inaccurately weighed (me + bike on home scales, minus my weight) it comes in at 7.3kg with pedals, chain catcher, gps mount and bottle cages. I have Dura ace on it. Also realised it's a 2016 model. I'm only lightweight myself but I can honestly say I've never felt the weight of this bike is what is holding me back  If you can have a sit on one I'd highly recommend it, I found it so comfortable compared to other brands and I've since taken it across some truly horrific terrains (for a road bike) and it hasn't skipped a beat.

Also mine is a 46cm so take that into account with its lighter weight than quoted..

A few locals to me have the GAN S and they are impressed - it is basically the old F8, with slightly lower modulus carbon.
