Fluid Rythm - decent value?

Postby ryangus » Sun Apr 08, 2018 6:02 pm

Wondering if this https://www.anacondastores.com/cycling/ ... BP90112845 is worth the sale price of $679, for a general get-about bike, mostly bitumen with the odd dirt trail every now and then.

Anaconda Fluid bike tend to be ‘optimistic’ in their RRP, but are also very rarely sold at RRP. $679 sounds like pretty good value for the components and would likely serve your purpose well.

Looks good. You could even buy a pair of thinner faster lighter tyres for everyday riding, and swap to the stock tyres for when you want to hit the dirt.

The only thing that worries me are the generic cranks, bottom bracket and wheels. I don't know what a P-Spec crank or bb looks like or who makes it (I'm guessing VP or someone along those lines).

That notwithstanding, the rest of the bike spec seems ok for $679, but not for what Anaconda allege the RRP to be ($1699). Although as pointed out by another user above, the RRP appears to be a device used to create the impression of larger savings.

Would probably be on a par with similar ($600-$700) bikes from Reid and similar sellers.
