Junior bikes
Postby Rowdie » Fri May 11, 2018 2:08 pm
Looking to get my daughter (aged 11) a road bike to do triathlons.
Any recommendations ? (or cycling specific websites that sell second hand)

And her height is?Rowdie wrote:Looking to get my daughter (aged 11) a road bike to do triathlons.
There's 24", 26" (650C) and 28" (700C a.k.a. "full size") road/tri bikes out there. Each suits incrementally taller ranges of people. Most likely a 650C bike will fit as you can build frames from teeny up to well over 6' (at about 165-170cm 700C frames are viable, depending on individual shape)

No relationship, not even a customer. The owner/staff lurks around here somewhere.

Saw one today, it looked reasonable enough.
Must be a decent secondhand market for them given how quickly kids grow (too big for the smaller bikes).

The one shown is an XXS selling for $699 (am sure you could haggle this down or get freebies) and is in Parramatta.

Other option is a Norco Valence but that's another $300 odd
