Masi single speed equivalent

Postby lego72 » Fri May 25, 2018 7:41 am

Hi there,
Two months ago I was involved in a bike accident. While I was not injured my Masi Speciale ltd needs to let go of as the LBS can't fix it. The problem is that the LBS and I can't source a Masi Uno Drop (an equivalent Masi as they don't sell mine anymore) in Australia.

So, does anyone know where I could get a Masi Uno Drop in Australia (new) AND/OR what the equivalent would be? I paid $1000 10 years ago so something in that price range would be suitable.

This is for insurance purposes.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you're OK.

What can't be fixed? Are there parts that can be salvaged? Some equivalents off the top of my head:

Kona Paddywagon
Fuji Feather
Surly Steamroller
Soma Rush
Cinelli Gazetta
All City Big Block
Bianchi Pista

I'm glad I'm ok too, very lucky.

The front forks were very obviously bent as I ran into the side of the car (it did an illegal RH turn in front of me). The LBS said the stem(?) is also bent and there are stress fractures in some of the weld joints. I'll ditch the front wheel and frame and brakes to be safe but will pull the rest off as spares. I did buy a new bike but different - A Giant Toughroad SLR GX0.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check those out.
Cheers
