New bike time! Recommendations please...

Finally saved enough for a new flat bar road bike.

To be used as a commuter to and from work (nil requirement for pannier racks) and a weekend warrior bike!

All paved roads/footpaths used.

I have isolated my favourite two from about 6 months of searching and have decided on either

I have not been on a test ride on either as i will be buying online.

Am leaning towards the Giant at the moment simply because it 'looks' better

Recommendations or experience on either is much appreciated before i pull the trigger.

Considering shipping, the Canyon Roadlite CF 7.0 would be the same price as the others.

All of them have compact cranks, Giant and Canyon have a slightly easier gearing for hills if that matters (32 vs 28) but 28 gets most people up most climbs so no biggie (although I love my 32).
25c tyres on the Giant vs 28mm on the Cannondale vs 30mm on the Canyon.
The Canyon's DT Swiss wheels seem good, I know the Giant PR-2 disc wheels are heavy as I replaced them on my bike. No idea of the Cannondale wheels.

If you're happy to buy online without test riding first, go with what looks good and makes you want to ride it. They're all going to be excellent bikes in isolation, and if you never compare them, then you'll never know what's "better" or "worse" so you can't really go wrong

If you're still looking at flat bars, look at the Merida speeder. They do a 105 and an ultegra level. There are three Merida flat bars at work. All happy with them

one of the advantages being you can filter between lines of vehicles without whacking a longer flat bar against car mirrors, and have less chance of bar contact with cyclists traveling the opposite direction, not to mention pedestrians.
