Giant Neos GPS

Have been looking for a GPS computer for a while and came across Giant Neos GPS. https://www.giant-bicycles.com/au/neos-gps-2019

Can't find any reviews of the device. Anyone have any experience with them? Looks like a decent priced entry level computer.

Have found them available at various online shops.

Hard I judge it with limited info and no reviews. Honestly I would just save up for a Garmin 130.

Update.

Got one of these for Father’s Day.

Didn’t take much to setup. Been on a test ride with it and worked well. Synced to Strava from neostrack app.

Think it will do all I need it to for a first gps computer.

What is the advantage to this over a basic bike computer + using my phone for Strava? I needed to replace my basic speed/distance/time computer after my accident, my LBS quoted me for the Giant NEOs GPS but I just bought another $15 cheapie.

Does it offer turn by turn navigation? Or sync with a power meter (that I don't have)? Seeing as I never ride without my phone in case of breakdown or accident, I run the Strava app.

I like the device. Has worked every time I have used it and is accurate for recording. The upload to Strava is simple. I just wanted a simple device that offered GPS recording and didn't want to spend much for my first one. Very happy with it

It does not offer turn by navigation. Where I ride I don't need navigation. The device syncs with Bluetooth peripheral sensors.I also never ride without my phone in my pocket but wanted something on the handlebars that I could see for speed and distance.

Strava is only as good as the device feeding it the information. A dedicated GPS unit has much higher sensitivity and better processing power than a phone, which has all sorts of other guff packed into it as well, affecting the quality of the data it's collecting; there can be considerable variation between different rides on the same route, and between what the phone and separate computer have recorded on the same ride.

Dedicated GPS receivers are still not immune to tracking errors, as satellite signals can suffer interference from tall buildings or heavy tree cover, but this can almost totally be overcome by using on-board sensors to supplement the GPS data.

Basic computers record just as well, on the proviso that they're properly calibrated to the bike's wheel size, their shortcoming is the inability to store ride histories for future reference.
