OK, I'm getting ahead of myself. Here is one for August.
Flatlandsis not as flat as the name implies. When I was pre-riding all these roads, I'd set off from home and most of my memories were of the turf farms out at Windsor, so the ride became flatlands. But then I added bits and made the start in Parramatta. I was initially looking for places I could ride with a low heart rate and still have speed.
The roads are excellent, great for social riding and mostly quiet.

I reckon I'll give the 200 a go as it looks a great route and Parra Park is a favourite start and end point for me being local.

Was just looking at the map for the 200 option, as I am considering it. At the 166.5km mark, you turn left onto Old Stock Route Rd. Last time I checked this is a No Through Road. Is this a secret bush bash section of the ride?robHflyte wrote:it is this weekend, registration still open.

Thanks for organising the ride Rob. Nice to ride some different roads. First time up Cliftonville Rd for me. It is a brutal climb, although thankfully, not very long. So much for the "flatlands" with 2,000 metres of climbing.

I did say it was going to be a shock for anyone expecting a flat ride out there Last time I went that way, we descended Cliftonville Rd to River Rd, heading out to Wisemans Ferry. As a joke, a few us started riding back up the hill to meet the stragglers in our group still coming down. As they were on the steepest bit, we called out "Wrong turn, we have to go back to the top!". You should have seen the death stares lolbiker jk wrote:Thanks for organising the ride Rob.
