Sydney to Melbourne 1200
Postby cavebear2 » Sun Nov 12, 2017 3:07 am
This starts on Sunday 19th November - I'm starting and hoping to complete this though I realise that it is a big ask of my body. (even though I did have success in the previous edition in 2013)

good luck, I hope you have a great ride. I'll be out there, not riding but as a volunteer the whole way down.

Hi Rob,
Thanks in advance for your support!
My wife was going to help with support at Laurel Hill but has injured her wonky knee and can't sit in/drive a hire car from Syd to Melb.
Regards
Perry

I'll be the one with a camera permanently slung over his back or in his hand. Maybe both.

Good luck Perry! I rode it in 2013. That's enough for one lifetime!

That ride got me interested. Didn’t figure on a baby after 10 years of half-heartedly trying though... broached the idea of doing it in 2021 and Louisa seemed receptivehamishm wrote:Good luck Perry! I rode it in 2013. That's enough for one lifetime!

The article specifically says it's unknown and that is just one possibility.. I don't think it's helpful to speculate.bagelonabike wrote: its sounding like a possible hit and run?

For forum members lamenting the lack of posts and the lack of photos checkout the Audax Sydney-Melbourne 1200 photos here https://bluebike.photos/sm12002017 , day 1 & 2 are up with others to follow. Great job Rob. Perhaps Cavebear can give us his commentary on the scenes. The only thing better than looking at great cycling photos is of course being out there doing it, I have a good deal of practice though before I will be doing that ride.

Photos from all 4 days are up at https://bluebike.photos/sm12002017
Many great shots showing the riders exhaustion on day 2 to elation on day 4
Easy to lose yourself in the photos for a few hours.
