Quang that looks absolutely awesome, but I've got to ask, how the hell did you get those wheels for $50?!

Found them on eBay initially but dismissed them, thinking that bidding will go up high. Then saw it again on Gumtree, for $60, so I went for them at $50. However, there is a mini bump at 2 nipples. One on the front and one on the rear but I reckon that it wont be too much of a problem though. $50 is still worth it for the hubs.

Had my first stack on a road bike today. Riding at about 20km/h about to head over the driveway at Dunc Gray and stacked it. Must've gone too parallel and the tyre didn't make it over. I'm alright other than kicking the ground or something. Bike is fine as well, scraped the right DA pedal, and scratched the right hood and RD. The thing that bugged me the most is that the car behind me just waited for me to get out of the way. Didn't even get out to see if I was ok, even though he saw my stack from a few meters away.

Looks like a 25 year old carbon frame with holes drilled in the TT running on cracking carbon rims will survive a small crash and hopefully it'll keep going on without issues.

Glad you're OK Quang. Shakes you up though. One trick on drive lips like that is to lean back a bit, off the saddle, and lift the front wheel in the air just before contact. The back will follow no worries.
The car driver's reaction? Well within the Normal Distribution middle 90%.

Stack to the non drive side instead, it's does less damage. Good to hear you're okay. My initial thought when I saw Frailers 'glad you're okay' was 'OH GOD IT HAPPENED!' But alas, no frame breakage.

It was the extra holes that caused the crash! Honest.

Need to practice doing wheelies

More carbon has found its way onto the bike. And now I'm slowly losing the older 105 parts. Found these on eBay, but dunno what brand they are. However, they are very similar to Shimano ones.

And now its got 10 speed 105.

And more gold chain goodness! The KMC x10SL has a nicer shade of gold compared to the previous 9s chain on it.

Looking great. 8) Also doing your bit for the environment by 'sinking' carbon. Are those the North Turramurra wheels?

I'm pretty sure I'm giving off more carbon as I breathe  And no. The ones you picked up are Shimano RS80, and I still need to build the front wheel. They will be for my next bike of frame material you should be able to guess. These are FastFoward wheels which Joe grabbed for me from North Sydney.

And even better at $20 posted. If I can find the Sram carbon derailleurs for cheap, it'll be possible. Or maybe go Microshift.

Bike looks great, turned the old looking carbon into a real modern styled bike.

As mentioned, gumwalls would look great ! They would give a nice break from the black and will suit the gold chain

I think you may find those brake calipers are fo-carbon. I'd stick with the Shimano calipers personal. Good braking performance. Especially if you upgrade the pads.

I reckon scott's onto it, those calipers look like carbon wrapped Tektro I would say. Still looks cool though :D .

They prob are wrapped. Too cheap for full carbon, and upon rebuilding, I scratched a bit of the black paint away to find metal underneath. But doesn't matter, its all about the looks. On the first ride, they have been braking alright. Only cheap thing about them is the quick release. It's plastic and doesn't have a ratcheting feel like the 105s. 105 brakes will be spares in the case that the CF brakes die.
