This looks totally original. Not really my thing but I bet it isn't there in an hour.
It is a handmade bike from Melbourne from the 40's

It's not really a racing bike is it? It looks more like an old sports bike, but I did find a reference to another one on the web that implied it was a bit of a racer.
I thought it would have sold quickly.

wouldnt get too excited over a roadster, nice old thing though, pricing probably not far off its value, but with Ebay who knows some people spend waaaayyyyyyy too much on some things.

Whilst it's an interesting example, it looks to be, in the end, just a pressed lug Roadster [The ends of the chainstay tubes & fork blades were pressed together to flatten them, then the axle slots were punched out in a machine]
This was the very cheapest form of construction & millions of pressed lug Roadsters were produced over a 30 year period [or more] throughout the world from the mid 30's & all of them provided dependable yeoman duty for millions more kids & workers for many decades.
The last one to be riden to work as a regular commuter won't be happening in my lifetime.
I suspect that the asking price is not all that far off it's true market value.
