Now I'm kicking myself

Postby mikesbytes » Thu Feb 22, 2007 10:50 pm

Earlier this month was the Sydney power lifting competition. I had seriously considered entering it, but decided in the end that I wasn't ready. But seeing the results, there was a big hole in the 82.5kg weight divsion, where I would of entered. Perhaps I would of been the first cyclist to win a power lifting division.

My opening safe lifts would of been;
80kg bench press
100kg swat
140kg deadlift

A total of 320kg, 5kg more than the winner.

You get 3 lifts in each category and I would of gone up by 10kg in each, so my end total would of been somewhere between 320kg and 380kg, lets assume 350kg.

If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

A bit like Tuco's D grade race where only 2 turned up and he won.

Have a nice day

Ruddy weightlifting. I've done a little bit and it confirmed everything I'd thought about how technical it is. Love watching it on the telebox (except with turbomouth Eastlake is commentating).

Sounds good to me - I am guessing that if it had been me in that situation I would have come second :lol: ...

Mate, with your workload, there wouldn't be many bods in your category to worry about.
