Hehe - it's not hard to tell why you picked your forum name...Slowcoach wrote:Would definitely need to be more than one bike for me - can't think of a single bike that I'd be willing to spend 19k on. I'd probably go for a Cervelo P5 Tri config with mechanical Ultegra and an Eddy Mercxx EM5 with Campag Record.

Actually I think I might still have 5 k left to spend going on current prices... might need to buy my family new bikes as well!Slowcoach wrote:You know too muchRonK wrote:Hehe - it's not hard to tell why you picked your forum name...Slowcoach wrote:Would definitely need to be more than one bike for me - can't think of a single bike that I'd be willing to spend 19k on. I feel like he bought a HSV, an overpriced/hyped commodore. But he is happy with it.

I'll have that bike thanks - seems pretty nice. Oh and a new GTS to go with it. 432kW has nothing to do with hype. It is lighter than a new M5 too.Fe wrote:An update, the guy ended up getting a Supersix EVO Himod Black edition with some fancy rims and updated to 11speed Di2, weight weenie parts like brakes, carbon seat and so on.

The only BMW with real quality is an S70/2 and neither you or I will ever afford one of those. Unless you've got $5mil spare.singlespeedscott wrote:On average if you sat in a BMW and then sat in a Commodore you will notice the BMW had better quality fittings with a better fit.

only coz they can amortize the cost over 250,000 units versus 30,000.singlespeedscott wrote:On average if you sat in a BMW and then sat in a Commodore you will notice the BMW had better quality fittings with a better fit.

seriously, if you're not earning money cycling, and you have 19k worth of bikes, you can do what you want..
i'd buy a cinelli supercorsa with 11s record, a new colnago master with 11s record, and a LOOK 695 with, oh, i don't know, maybe 11s record.
might just scrape it in, if i buy one set of decent wheels.

Perhaps a BMC Impec with Dura Ace 9000 Di2 and Lightweight Obermayer Limiteds?
Maybe a Colnago C59 Italia with Super Record EPS and Campy Bora's?
Although I'm pretty sure the Impec would be more than 19k.
Regardless I'm happy with my custom Wilier GranTurismo that cost me a quarter of that price!
2011 Orbea Carpe- Sora/Tiagra
Peter Sagan showman appreciator!
