I'm fairly new to this road bike thing, and have been riding on the Michelin Carbons which came with my bike when I bought it, and have recently changed to Vittoria Rubino Intrepids (as the Michelin Carbons got some deep cuts and one got a big sidewall bulge and was told the Rubino's are tougher).
Inflating them to the same pressure, (about 105 on the front, 110 on the back) my impression is that the ride's a bit rougher with the Rubino's.
Anyone had a similar experience ? Are these tougher tyres less compliant?
Given that the Rubino's say to keep b/w 100-120 psi, would there be a place for running them at a lower pressure ? (considering I only weigh 57kg, and the bike's another 8.4 loaded)

You are pumping the tyres up too hard.
I weigh 80kg and do 100 - 105 in the front and 110 - 115 in the rear.
Don't worry about the min pressure on the side wall, try something softer, perhaps 85 in the front and 95 in the rear.
Have a nice day
