Azzurri warranty issues
Postby kurkad » Sun Aug 25, 2013 5:49 pm
My Fozza Elite frame cracked RH seat stay) riding home from work (didn't crash) contacted Azzurri by email (only way to contact them- no phone number) with the frame number over 3 weeks ago, they respond that they "will look into it" they haven't even asked to see the bike - I'm still waiting.......
The 'life time' frame warranty seems to be how long they take to handle claims!
I'm very disappointed with this brand. My bike is my main form of getting to work & back as no car parking is available where I work in the city.

If you need to rely on it then steel or Ti is the way to go. Even with those metals, over built for purpose is desirable for longevity. Better to get a frame that doesn't need a warranty rather than playing the waiting game.kurkad wrote:I'm very disappointed with this brand. Hmmm, I'd be calling in if it was me and speaking to whomever is running the show....kurkad wrote:I bought the bike from Cycling Expresses shop in Bayswater Vic, they told me to deal directly with Azzurri (even though it's the same ownership operating in the same building), the only way to contact them is by email.
Good luck with it all.

If you bought it from them, it's their problem.. just convincing them of that is your problemkurkad wrote:I bought the bike from Cycling Expresses shop in Bayswater Vic, they told me to deal directly with Azzurri (even though it's the same ownership operating in the same building), the only way to contact them is by email.

the fact that they have no listed phone number rings some alarm bells for me. i also own an Azzurri (Forza) which has been pretty good, but i wonder how they make a profit on their bikes at the prices they charge.

Sram Red Bottom Bracket collapsed after about 9 mths and about 3000ks.
Contacted Cycling Express and got the fololwing responses.
Emails to and from Cycling Express. Make up your own minds.
Email 1
Hi,
purchased an Azzurri Forza Rl, SRAM Red from cucling express in April 2013.
The bottom bracket has collapsed on the non drive side.
Is this covered under warranty and what can be done about it?
Thanks

XXXX,
Before we go too far down the warranty trail, can you give me the maintenance history (including cleaning) of the bike?
Cheers.

Peter,
bike has had basic service but not to bottom bracket, which I believe is a sealed unit.
Bike is cleaned with a damp rag.
I know bottom brackets do blow out but a bit disappointing for SRam Red to last less than 9 mths.
Would be happy if we could do a deal on a replacement unit.
Thanks

xxxx,
I know the feeling, my first Sram Red BB last 5 months.
They have a bit of a reputation, sadly.
Are you after BB30 or GXP?
Conclusion
No offer of compensation at all. but some sincere regret!!
Still waiting on resolution.
Will spend more time at the local bike shop, as they care more about their reputation.
