Anyone keen for Ainslie repeats in the morning?

Postby njosey17 » Sun Aug 25, 2013 4:44 pm

Thinking of doing two laps of the beast in the morning - figured if someone else was keen, it would force me out of bed.

Thoughts? About 5:45am at the turn off towards Mt Ainslie.

It's tempting, but Wednesday mornings are my bunch ride mornings, sorry!

Hey nescius,

Which bunch do you ride with? Where from/how far? Open to guests? :)

Just curious - feel free to tell me to rack off.

Bilbys bunch, leaving from Dickson Pool at 6am for about a 35/40km loop. We're usually done by 7:15am, coffee at Good brother in Dickson. There are usually three groups, fast (A/B grade pace), fast medium (B/C/D grade pace), and medium for a more relaxed pace. Fast and fast medium are rolling pacelines. All are welcome, maybe turn up 5 minutes early and see if Gary is there and introduce yourself, but if you are an experienced bunch rider then just pick the one that you think you'll fit in with and go along. There are four different loops that we rotate through, some are more flat and some have more hills, not sure which one is tomorrow.

Ah well - might head over to Ainslie or Black Mountain this evening instead and rock up for a roll around with one of those. Thanks!

If you're doing Blackies this evening I might see you there, I missed my session this morning so should be heading out this evening (barring any unforseen circumstances), should be there from 6:15 or so for about an hour (I'll wave at anyone I see just in case you are there :P ).

got stuck at work, so snuck over and slipped in a few Red Hill repeats - not even close to the same thing, but it means I was straight into it rather than navigating the traffic across from Barton.

Hopefully catch you in the morning - I will be the dude with the road bike. :)

Went with the medium (3rd of 4) group this morning - was a great hit out!

Will definitely try and get along next week - I love the idea of the rotating courses. If it helps, I was the guy with the black Kask helmet on the yellow and black Scott.

Hope to catch you at Good Brother next time!

Good stuff, I'm glad you could make it and had a good time, they're a good bunch to ride with (even though it's a triathlon club :P ). I went with fast medium but will probably be doing the fast bunch after next week. I like the different courses, it helps to keep things a bit fresh, and having four groups to choose from is good because you can have a go at a faster group and if you get dropped you can just jump on when the next group comes past.

Out of interest what was the average speed for that group? Got a Strava URL?

Did I see you on Duffy St this morning? I was on a red and black Merida with red/black kit.

Did three Ainslies and a bunch this morning. First repeats for a long time. I intend to do a lot more.
