I'm about your height 198cm and I got the Jekyll as seen above. It's natively a 26" wheel bike, but can and does fit 27.5" (which I'm, using) I went for some demos on some 29ers and felt too perched atop the bike for comfort. Just felt too tall an cumbersome. The 26" bikes I tried felt too small, like I was bunched up or something, especially after the feeling of a road bike. The 27.5" feels perfect on an XL frame (20") I feel within the bike, if that makes sense. Also if I want a bit more aggression and flick-ability in the bike I can just swap for some 26" wheels.toolonglegs wrote:I enquired at my LBS about mtbs... He said that next year cannondale were only bringing out 27.5 & 29'ers next season. Really would like a new mtb but I don't know if I would do it justice!

Recently reached 4,500Km on my Berzerker Green beast and have been loving every minute of it! I changed from 23mm to 25mm Conti GP4000s and they feel fairly good. I managed 3,800km on the 23mm tyres, so not a bad run - and not one puncture!
I also put some 'dale C-cages on last week - they do the job well.
cheers

The GP4000s is the biggest 25 I've ever seen.munga wrote:those 25's remind me of circuit racing tyres. f-a-t. they must be comfier than the 23's by quite a margin.

Actually, those are the old 23s - I mixed the photos up...d'oh! I do put 120psi in them, as I'm a larger-sized lad!
I've put about 200Km on the 25s now and they are nicer - not stupidly smoother, but noticeably so.

I'm really enjoying riding it. Still working out handlebar position. Was a little too tilted back last weekend, but I've gone too far the other way here. Eventually I'll change bars for something more like the bar shape on macca33's.
Very comfortable ride, no lower back discomfort after over 3 hours in the saddle last Sunday.
The fix to the cosmetic corrosion didn't work as well as planned. I'll sling it to one of the local bike shops that is good with that kind of thing in a few weeks to tidy up.

2003 R2000 CAAD7.
10s Centaur QS group, with exception of Chorus carbon crankset. Mavic Cosmos to lightweight taiwanese hubs 24/28h. Concor Light. Deda bars/stem. 8.3kg as shown. Not hugely light, but about 1.5kg lighter than my steelies. Fun, in any case

I realize you've probably already received 10,000 opinions but those shifters look like they could be moved forward a few mm, might be the camera angle but that bar shape is designed to have the top of the shifters parallel with the flat part of the barstrailgumby wrote:Not as bling as Paul G's version above, but it will do me.

Btw the cannondale compact bars (which I have and like) are a short reach bar so they may well change your seating/reach position, just a thought that's all

If I can get some of those compact bars with a 100mm reach that would be ideal and would save buying a new stem. But I've spent a few $k on bikes the last few months, so that will have to wait for a bit longer.

I did struggle for the first week with the standard crank after using a compact previously. But getting used to it and getting stronger too. The 28 on the back helps too.
Only thing I'm not real happy with is the Jet Black bottle cages. Nothing wrong with them but I think I'll try and get some Cannondale ones.
