This story has aggravated me to no end... I'm glad you weren't more seriously hurt (Not that a compound fracture is exactly surface busing ), and were able to get back home to your family.
Not that its about me... but where's the justice? I got (and I'm sure also have gotten) the same punishment - 1 demerit point (and $180 fine) for driving 53km/h in a 50 zone... apparently the our infringements are worthy of equal sanctioning... go figure.
