I commute in one, very nice but the venting has been a problem in the cold weather. Needed a beanie lots this winter past. Gonna be sweet in summer.

Mine is very comfortable. The visor is really effective. The straps are the weak spot.Sven Nijs wrote:Has anyone tried those Chakra (Plus) MTB helmets from Velogear? Tempting for that price..

I got a few mirrcycle mtb ones for $18 ea. Only way you get it cheaper (feel free to invalidate my web searching skills ) is if you buy an overseas plane ticket.

They are actually pretty good, the photo is the spare that I bought as backup. The mirror is about 10cm in diameter, and currently I mount it on the inside of the shifter/brake lever (flat bar), and the edge of the mirror extends slightly past the bar end. Obviously my arm does block it to an extent, but a tilt of the head or shift of the arm does clear it due to the size of the mirror. Its very stable with little vibration. The main down side is that you need to get yourself a rubber spacer/strip, like the ones provide with lamps, or else you will damage the paint on the handle bar.
Overall, its a good enough mirror for $2.80, just don't think about the aerodynamics of it.
Also, its a glass mirror, so the durability might not be that good. Thats why I bought a spare. But so far after a week or so, and probably 100kms, it doing alright.

Just tried to buy a Garmin Edge 810 using this code. I had an account, but had never bought from them before. I got all the way to the payment, & then was told that my account wouldn't let me use Mastercard?? Weird, never had that problem before. I fired them off an email, but the offer finishes at midnight. Oh well, not meant to be i guess.Ross wrote:10% discount on everything at Cycling Express use code EXTRA10 offer ends Sept 15 11.59pm

Just got an email from Ken (AT) Cycling Express. There was a problem at their end. They've sorted it out & extended the 10% discount until the end of today. I've just retried my purchase & it works just fine (as does the code).Tank1252 wrote:Just tried to buy a Garmin Edge 810 using this code. I had an account, but had never bought from them before. (I was also given another code for -10% that will last the whole week, but i'm not entirely sure if it was for just me or everyone...?)

I have both and the Assos bib chammy in my 85kg opinion a lot more comfortable than the Castelli Free's. I do prefer the Free's fit both are large, but the Castelli is more of a snug fit than the Assos. I am considering grabbing a medium in the Assos bib as the large fits, just it's not tight.joomz wrote:Sold! Thanks for the tip. Will be interesting comparing these Assos bibs to the Castelli Free Aeros.

Thats annoying, bought one a month ago for just over twice that.Jonno wrote:Ground Effect are ceasing use of their Intercool fabric, so I picked up a Rock Lobster for $36 delivered yesterday on clearance. Still a few Manta's available now. I'm not sure if the Hyperactive fabric tops will wear as well as the Intercool when used with a backpack, but could suit some:
