Truth be told it is alot more than that. All the recent installations there have been put in as a trial basis. This is typical politicking to make the changes more palatable at the time of installation. Funnily enough Melbourne's streets didn't grind to a halt (well not any more severely than normal ) and so we get to keep the lanes.
After reading all the rubbish Sydney cyclists have to endure I would love to give ol' Doylie a hug!
