Anybody had any experience purchasing from http://www.stkildacycles.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ?

Placed an online order on Sunday, instant payment etc.

Didn't here anything from them so emailed them on Tuesday.

Only to be told the old story that it was out of stock......

Was told he placed an order on Monday ( but didn't bother telling the customer) and I will hopefully have it by the weekend.

But alas as of right now nothing else from them.

It is just annoying that online stores advertise items that they don't have in stock.

I guess its another place to give the flick......

rant over for today :)

Availability appears to be shown on the website. Did you check it was showing in stock? Maybe it was showing to be ordered or something like that and you missed it (e.g., the Wiggle approach)?

Hi,
No it was in stock and is still showing as in stock, it was actually a Brooks saddle.

And still nothing from them after emailing them again this morning.

You know you could of ordered one from wiggle and had it shipped to Australia than what StKilda Cycles are advertising them for.

I actually got the aged one, which was $90, and being in Ozz thought I would get it quicker than getting one from overseas.

Ordered some wheels from bike bug. Pressed the button wednesday at about 2, and had an email at 4:30 from the courier saying they were on their way from syd to bne. They were on my door at 1:30 the next day - so less than 24 hours click to door. :o

That they were some $700 cheaper than local is equally amazing.

Cancel your order with them, and order it somewhere else. If they don't give you a refund in a reasonable amount of time, have the charges reversed off your credit card by the bank. If they said the item was in stock and its not...

Ordered a couple of hundred dollars worth of gear on Thurs 12 Sept, just used standard postage from the UK and didn't bother with the upgraded faster service, and the order arrived in full on Monday 16 Sept. Super impressive!

Had to settle for a refund from ST KILDA CYCLES or BIKES ON BRUNSWICK whatever they want to call them selves.

Received a reply on Sat with some rubbish saying he had just been on the phone to his supplier who was now having trouble with there courier. Only took a week to come up with that.

Offered a refund or a good price on another saddle.

So I replied asking which saddles were IN STOCK ( as the one I ordered was still showing as in stock.

No reply was forthcoming.

Got in touch again today advising I would like a refund or else I will be contacting my bank concerning a fraudulent transaction.

Got a reply apologising saying he was sick yesterday etc. And supposedly has done a refund.

As I said at the beginning not sure if there bricks and mortar store has better business practices, but if that is the way they run the online section it makes you wonder. And really good business practice , that it comes to a standstill if a certain worker is sick.

So best to add them to the MISS list...... St Kilda Cycles or Bikes on Brunswick

cheers

Great service from Cell. Ordered some bar tape last week, adhesive backing wouldn't come away cleanly, end result, tape wouldn't stick to bars. Contacted them on Saturday, they got back to me on Monday saying they'd send new tape, the tape arrived here (Brisbane) this afternoon. No questions asked, no return needed, now I'm ready to ride. Will definitely order from them again.
Long day's journey into alt-bars

Yep prices are the same (unless they're online only sale items), saw a pair of shoes on their online store and went to their Stanmore store to try them on before buying. Service was great and when they didn't have my size they offered to order it in for me. Their prices are certainly competitive and nice to see their staff are friendly (read: notice you when you walk in)

Not always, but if you say the online price is $xx they seem to match it in store.

Just completed my first order with Probikekit. I ordered a pair of Ortlieb classic rear roller panniers, they have them for $114 AUS, using a discount code from here I got them for $103 with free delivery.

Ordered 14 Sep
Despatched 16 Sep
Delivered 25 Sep

They were the cheapest that I could find for these panniers, One Aust retailer has them for $169 online (marked down from $329) or $2?? in the shop (ACT), I was looking at ebay for $159 but glad I kept looking whilst saving up my dosh.

So thumbs up for Probikekit from me. :D

I have found the Wiggle are wiggling out of their Will beat by 10% discount blazened over their homepage
I cut and paste and sent link a Ribble product and sure enough please send the link and then more time wasting emails about delivery etc by which time the extra 10% Ribble price had gone
Wiggle have done this twice-no more Wiggle for me!

Bought a set of these in XL, they fit great and arrived 11 days after paying. No tracking number made me a little nervous but they arrived fast, and fit good, I guess we just wait and see how they last after washing. $45 a set is good value too.

+1 for the Wiggle wiggle. Not impressed. I sent them a price match request, including a screen shot of the competitor's checkout showing special price and free postage. Received NO reply from Wiggle, and then the competitor's special ended. Missed opportunity there.
Has anyone actually had success with the Wiggle "we'll beat it by 10%" promise?
