For commuting motivation, try accidentally running the car battery flat . I did this and was left with no choice but ride to work (44km round trip). Maybe you could join your local cycling club and do some club racing. If we get enough forum type people with an ACF licence, we could enter a team in next years Tour Down Under.

welll well wellll, im home, showered, and gear is in the tub. It was a plesant 50km round trip today. A little warm on the way home, but it was nice. I got chsed by a big F.O. dog, and chased down some guy who was cracking along. He relaxed and rolled down the hill, and I sprinted to catch up! :P I really enjoyed it! well, tomorrow is a new day, and the alarm is set for 0420 Hrs. Again. I feel great. Well, better than yesterday. Im looking at getting a new set of pedals. Upgrading to shimanoooooooo 105's, over my cheapies. will kep you posted.
BTW, a team in next years tour down under sounds great. (is there a link for some info? I have no idea what its about) but I will join up anyway :)

Congratulations - "Bob" is safe.

Is that 50km the shortest route, or your preferred distance? My commute is 19km, but I've stretched it out to 41km.

50k is 25k each way. Leojvs will soon be tacking on the M2/M7/M5 loop onto the commute, setting the alarm for 0202 Hours.

hey MJF. My route is a cheats version of the full distance. I drive to my half way point, whih is Penrith station, then cycle the other 25kms to Richmond. I used to do the full 50kays, but it was too much with a 10 hour day in between.

I would do the abve loop, but the tolls stop me

Wow - you live 50k from where you work!!?! (spoilt Canberra person here).

That's a pretty big commuting distance, but I bet it keeps you fit. I'm trying to keep over 100km a week, but I can only do three days a week due to after-school activities, hence the extra unecessary distance. I find myself really enjoying the game of trying to be a little faster each week...

yeah the distance is a killer. Even in a car. When I go to Canberra to work I love it. We stay in Kingston, and drive 5 mins to Brindebella business park. we do 12-4 hour days, but its only a 5 min drive home! Its GREAT!

I just got some flash new (105) pedals in the mail box today! Yay!

Hmm, blotchy nicks. Dunno where you get them. Must be a european thing. I'm guessing the splash in front is his bike? Not a lot of other blokes leaping out of the way? :D

Love the look on the bloke's face, and the fella in the background watching from a boat.

well, its Friday tomorrow, and I have cycled 5 days out of the last 9, totalling 250kms so far. We had some flooding here at Warragamba, so I dont know if I will be riding tomorrow, but I hope to. Its been good. My ass is sore too, and I weighed myself thismorning. 73kg. Down 3. Bonus

Yay - see, you just needed some threats!

I've only been able to ride two days this week, but I'm thinking of squeezing in some K's tomorrow.

I've missed the last two days thanks to the Winter weather arriving on schedule. (Rain yesterday and a 50km/h coastal wind today that I didn't fancy my chances in!)

Long weekend coming up in WA so I think I'll hit the 100km ride on Saturday or Sunday to get back on track. (Normally burn 2,900 cals on these rides! )

30km Freeway Bike Ride coming up on the 18th March so the midweek is left to developing some top end to my speed my doing power weights and intervals. (I can cycle all day but I have no pace!)

Cheers,

Gary
