STOLEN: Matte Black Colnago CLX 3.0, Fitzroy, Melbourne

I had my black colnago clx 3.0 stolen from my "secure" apartment lockup on the 17/7.
pretty much the standard setup but had magic ksyrium elite wheels on it with continental gp4000s rubber.
a couple of very high powered lights on it, front was a nighttider minewt 250, rear a dinotte 300r.
also stolen were Rudy project sunglasses, matte black color with photo chromatic lends, a titanium colour girl ionos helmet.

other items taken was a minoura rda850 windtrainer, and strangely, a box of energy gels!

a few other road bikes were also taken, don't know much about those ones, but one was a white giant.

My bike has been found. Being sold at a pawn shop.
Matter is with police now. I can't believe it turned up, still in tact.

I'd love to track down the rest of my stuff now. Helmet, lights, clothing, trainer, sunglasses etc etc etc

yes thats the one Nezumi. I must state though, that the pawn shop guys were totally nice about it all.
The police are handling it now so I'm happy how its all turned out in the end. Hopefully the rest of my things can be returned too.

Every day I've been checking ebay etc, international sales and forums like this one. We have cctv footage, so I've been also looking for the van when I've been driving around.
Luckily for me the staff at the shop decided to post it on gumtree, I guess a big ticket item like that would need a bit more than the standard attention at these places.

I saw it a few hours after it posted, notified the police and went down to identify the bike. Its easily identifiable compared to similar bikes.
Of course the thought to steal it back crossed my mind, but that would probably just end badly for me! So I'll leave it to the professionals sort out.

So, I've gone through the process and got my bike back. It was pretty easy once I identified it, had to get a court order, and now it is back still in good condition. I am very lucky. Now when I went to pick it up, I saw that there was fairly new bianchi in its place for sale. The store is cash converters in Glenroy. I am not saying that this bike was stolen too, but I'd say there is a pretty good chance of it. I just can't fathom someone selling it for next to nothing to Cash Converters.

If anyone is looking for a Bianchi that's been stolen in the Melbourne area, I'd suggest you check out that store. I'm sure they do their required due diligence, but stuff gets through the cracks all the time.

Out of interest, how much was it advertised at cashies/gumtree for?

It was advertised as $2499. it had a rolling markdown on it so by March next year it would be $1600.
meaning they would have paid about $800 for it as a maximum.

I'd be confident in saying that they would have paid WAY less than $800......

First place to check when a high-end bike is pinched would be the local secondhand dealers and / or Cash Converters - a great place to shop and even better place to sell!
