Looks good.TedDancin wrote:Here's my long weekend test build, picked up the frame yesterday and put it together with a Superbe Pro group. Not sure what the frame is, light steel with nice lugs, and there are painters notes written on the steerer that say it was from Durban Cycles in Sutherland NSW, did they ever build their own frames?

Lucky my mate has a dropout alignment tool
That threadless headset has been removed! I've got a campagnolo on on order from c r c.
What are peoples thoughts on what I should build it with. It apparently came with Campag Record C from the 80's. I wouldn't mind putting a modern drive train on however 10 sp campag downtube shifters are non existent and I'd have to shimano a campag beast...

My favourite line was "You should not avoid conditions like rain...you should still continue to ride, it makes you tougher".

Very similar to one of Frank Paino's "ULTIMA" builds.
Does it have No serial number and small indented ball piene marks on bottom bracket?
With Colombus stamped front and rear drops?
Do the Headstem, Toptube and Downtube have the "spade" cutouts? and as you stated very light.
Do your forks have 2 cutouts next to the brake mounting hole? (front only).
If you over steer does your toe touch tyre?

Thanks for the info, but it has very few of those things, so I guess it's unlikely to be an Ultima. No serial number, two wide cutouts in BB, no name stamp on dropouts, lug cutouts are more elongated heart shapes, but not the same as on my Lennie Rogers. Has the cutouts in the fork crown lug, but on the rear only, toe overlap hasn't been a problem.gravelrash wrote: Very similar to one of Frank Paino's "ULTIMA" builds.
Does it have...
I don't think it's anything particularly special, but it almost fits and it looks pretty, so I think it was a decent score. My wife likes the colour so I think I'll keep it. Waiting on a few parts to finish of the build properly, will put up a few more photos then.

stupid question, but I found this bicycle at the back of my shed
and it had a G logo engraved where the seat stay meets the seatpost lug.
and I looked on the Bottom Bracket shell underneath and had the same logo
with Italy underneath it...I thought it may have been a Gitane before I saw the Italy
on it, in addition there's no engraved serial number... any ideas?

It looks a bit like the Moser symbol. I'll try and find a pic.vando88 wrote:Hey guys,

The bottom bracket looks like this..... as you can see just the logo, Italy and no serial number.....I'm really stumped...
search high and wide for logos and brands matching this...
